OGC Nice and Stade Rennais are starting to make waves in the transfer market! On the Côte d'Azur, a fresh force named Justin Kluivert has arrived at Les Aiglons, while the Brittany club have signed Norwegian international Birger Meling.

AS Roma and OGC Nice have agreed a loan deal - with option to buy - for Justin Kluivert. Loaned out by Roma to RB Leipzig last season, the Dutch winger cut his teeth at Ajax Amsterdam before moving to Italy in July 2018.

A dynamic, hard-hitting player, he is coming off a season with four goals and one assist in 27 appearances for the third-placed Bundesliga side. Kluivert, who caused Nice headaches in the double-header against Ajax in the Champions League qualifiers four years ago, will be playing in the red and black this time around.

Birger Meling is official

Birger Meling, who impressed in his full-back role since arriving at Nîmes, has been the focus of attention at Stade Rennais since the start of last season. Two goals and three assists later, the Breton club got their man after Nîmes Olympique's relegation to Ligue 2 BKT. The 26-year-old is an experienced Norwegian international and will strengthen the Brittany club's left-back options, in competition with Faitout Maouassa, who is set to remain in the Rennes squad next season, and the currently injured Adrien Truffert.

"It's a very good opportunity for us. He had an excellent season with Nîmes. Every time we watched Nîmes' games, he always stood out as a strong element of their team," explained Rennes sporting director Florian Maurice. "He is a very interesting player because of his ability to animate his attacking flank for 90 minutes, but also to defend well."
