Twenty-four hours after effecting one of the most talked about transfers in football history, Lionel Messi joined his new teammates in a training session at Paris Saint-Germain's Ooredoo training Centre on Thursday.

After a busy day being presented to the hordes of Paris Saint-Germain fans assembled outside the Parc des Princes and then completing various media obligations, Messi had the opportunity on Thursday to get down to business, meeting his new teammates and taking part in his first training session with them at the Ooredoo Training Centre.

Work to do

After showing up early with his wife and three children and familiarising himself with the amenities, the new Parisian no. 30 got started on the business of getting up to speed physically - the Argentine has hardly had a pre-season after lifting the Copa America earlier in the summer - something that new coach and compatriot Mauricio Pochettino takes extremely seriously.

The training session was the first chance to see the diminutive footballing genius working his skills with his fellow PSG superstars - and to feel what it might be like to see the six-time Ballon D'Or winner line up alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappé in what will doubtless be one of the most impressive front threes in world football.
