Following on from the positions taken by the World Leagues Forum on 13 August concerning the extension of international periods for CONMEBOL, the LFP regrets the total lack of consideration by FIFA of the interests of national leagues and clubs as employers of players.
This unilateral decision, taken in the middle of a pandemic with strong constraints linked to players' travel and the resulting quarantine rules when they return from national team duty, poses major problems for the availability of clubs' staff and the balance of the leagues.
The LFP is also working side by side with clubs to assist them in their dealings with the French authorities in order to ensure the return of players under the best possible conditions.
