While Nice were 2-1 victors against Brest on Saturday evening, coach Christophe Galtier felt Les Aiglons, his Ligue 1 Uber Eats high fliers, should have won by a greater margin.
Galtier, who coached LOSC to the title in 2020-2021, said: "We should have scored more goals. The team played with rhythm, intensity, enthusiasm and generosity. I also liked the way we took the game on against compact opponents. It wasn't easy but we still managed to create numerous chances.
"Our forwards had plenty of chances to score. The paradox of this match is that the goals came from two defenders. JC (Todibo) was opportunistic, and then Melvin Bard scored as he went beyond his role. Melvin is progressing week by week. He reads the game very well. I like the way he attacks after we win the ball back."
Michel Der Zakarian's Brest have only four points from nine games and the former Montpellier coach commented: "We came up against a Nice side that was stronger than us and they dominated from start to finish. The situation is difficult and we are in the bottom three. We need to get back to winning ways at home in order to relaunch our season."
