Sergio Ramos's brother and agent René has dismissed recent speculation linking the veteran centre-back with an early departure from Paris Saint-Germain.

The younger Ramos brother was part of an incredible influx of talent at the Parc des Princes this summer, joining Lionel Messi, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Gini Wijnaldum and Achraf Hakimi in signing for the nine-time French champions.

He did so as Spain's record cap-holder, one with more than 700 club appearances under his belt as well as 25 major honours. But unlike the rest of the above quintet, Ramos is yet to feature for Paris, a niggling calf injury leaving him sidelined 13 games and counting into the new Ligue 1 Uber Eats campaign.

Various media outlets have suggested in recent days that club and player may part ways before Ramos has even pulled on the Rouge et Bleu jersey, but René, who acts as Sergio's agent as well more than 30 other professional players', has dismissed such an idea.

"Sergio will play as soon as he can," he told Spanish national sports paper Mundo Deportivo. "He's no more going to retire than he is going to break his contract. There are no doubts about Sergio."

Paris are currently 10 points clear at the top of Ligue 1 Uber Eats following Saturday's 3-2 victory over Girondins de Bordeaux. They'll play FC Nantes and Manchester City in quick succession after the international break. Whether Ramos will be involved remains to be seen.
