Following the 1-0 defeat at home to Metz on Saturday evening, Nice coach Christophe Galtier was a very frustrated man.
Nice’s second place in the table will come under threat on Sunday following the loss to the division’s bottom club. Galtier commented: “We made the match difficult for ourselves. What annoys me the most is that we’re repeating errors and attitudes we don’t want to see at the start of games. It was the case against Montpellier and Clermont.
“I need to think about whether we should be less open, wait before trying to counter and maybe change certain things in terms of the profile of the players selected. I will change things. When things repeat themselves, you can’t just keep doing what you’ve been doing. You automatically need to change things.”
Metz’s second win of the season lifted them to only a point back from 15th-placed Reims ahead of the Sunday games. Coach Frédéric Antonetti said: “We got ourselves into trouble and now we need to get out of it. For that to happen, we need to be exemplary in terms of our spirit. The team hold their own when everybody is available. We need to make up for lost time and put a run together. Three draws and a win is already a run. My players are happy and they played with guts.”
