After 17 rounds of Ligue 1 Uber Eats, Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi is the player with the highest percentage of successful passes into the opposition box in the league. Check out the full ranking...
Lionel Messi, who joined Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, is set to play his tenth Ligue 1 Uber Eats match on Sunday, against AS Monaco. Five days after notching a double in the Champions League, La Pulga will have the opportunity to follow up against the principality club, and build on his stats (one goal and three assists in nine league games).
Messi, Hakimi on top
The Argentine may not have had his customary success in front of goal since his arrival - he currently holds the season record for hitting the woodwork with four - but he has not lost any of his precision in the creative phase of the game. In the first half of the season, he has racked up the highest percentage of successful passes into the opposition box (58.6%), just ahead of team-mate Achraf Hakimi (55.8%). The Parisians are the only two Ligue 1 Uber Eats players to have more than 50% success in this exercise among players who have attempted at least 50 such passes. Lille's Jonathan Bamba completes the podium (49.1%).
Romain Faivre, Stade Brestois 29's maestro
In terms of volume, and even though he has only played half the games this season, Lionel Messi takes third place with a total of 70 passes to the opposition box. He is a long way behind the leader, Romain Faivre, who has made 123 passes into the opposition box in his 16 appearances for Stade Brestois 29, while Stade de Reims Ilan Kebbal is second with 77.
Among these passes, it should be noted that the podium remains the same for final passes before a shot. Romain Faivre (22) leads the way ahead of Ilan Kebbal (18) and Lionel Messi (14). The Argentine shares third place with Achraf Hakimi, who has put in a fine performance with 14 of his 52 passes into the opposition box being followed by a shot.
