Leandro Paredes has urged Paris Saint-Germain to "move on quickly" from their Coupe de France disappointment to maintain the high pace they are setting at the top of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats table when they take on reigning French champions Lille on Sunday (kick-off 8.45pm CET).

PSG will not feature in the Coupe de France final for the first time since 2014 following their penalty shoot-out loss at home to Nice on Monday. Nice are also their closest challengers in the league, but with an 11-point gap over the field, PSG look well placed to claim the French title for a record-equalling tenth time.

A win over the reigning champions at the Stade Pierre Mauroy would edge them closer to that goal, and with games against Rennes and — in the UEFA Champions League — Real Madrid fast approaching, it would help boost confidence after the blow inflicted by Nice.

"We have to move on quickly because there is no time for regrets. We know that it was very painful for us to be eliminated from such an important competition. It's hard, but you have to get over it, you have to think about what's coming," Paredes told PSG's official website. "I think we have some very important matches this month, starting with Lille, which is the one that comes straight away, then Rennes and Real Madrid. These are very important games for us and we hope to get a positive result in all three games."

PSG will be bolstered by the return of Marquinhos, who scored in his team's 2-1 win over Lille earlier in the season, and though Senegal pair Idrissa Gueye and Abdou Diallo remain at the Africa Cup of Nations, Achraf Hakimi is available following Morocco's quarter-final exit. Sergio Ramos is a serious doubt, while Neymar and Georginio Wijnaldum are both missing as PSG look to extend their 13-game unbeaten run in the top flight.

"We play to win, we play to win the championship, and all the competitions we are involved in. But it's not easy, the opponents also want to get good results, they want to beat us so winning is not easy. We focus on ourselves, on what needs to be improved each week, to become even better," said Paredes.

"We like to play against Lille because they are a team that likes to play. They try to play good football, to put on a show, and I think it will be a good game like every time we play them. They are a rival, and we hope to get a good result."

Lille also have a major European date looming with reigning Champions League title-holders Chelsea their Round of 16 opponents.

After a sluggish start to their domestic title defence, Jocelyn Gourvennec's men had picked up momentum before their nine-game unbeaten run was ended by Brest last time out.

Having suffered a Coupe de France penalty shoot-out defeat to neighbours Lens in the Round of 32, they did not play last weekend, and Gourvennec took his squad for a winter training camp in Spain.

Timothy Weah and Jonathan David were on international duty with the USA and Canada respectively, but they returned to France in midweek and will be available. With Reinildo having joined Atletico Madrid during the January transfer window, Gabriel Gudmundsson will be first-choice left-back in the second half of the campaign.

"Each year, I hear Paris are beatable, but every year, they're at the top of the table and pushing for honours," said Lille midfielder Benjamin André. "They are a team who can make the difference individually and collectively. People say they are lacking something, but they're still one of the best teams in Europe. It'll be very difficult. We'll have to focus on ourselves to be able to cause them problems and win the match."
