Marseille remain the best of the rest behind PSG this season, despite their Classique defeat, in which Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappé scored to drown out Duje Caleta Car's first-half strike.
Les Phocéens could perhaps have got more out of the game, too, with William Saliba seeing a late volley from a Dimitri Payet free-kick ruled out for a marginal offside.
Worthy competitors
Jorge Sampaoli's side have been second for most of the season, holding the position for nine weeks since the turn of the year, and they remain favourites to join PSG in automatic qualification for next season's UEFA Champions League groups stages.
Marseille had won through to the UEFA Europa Conference League semi-finals the Thursday before the game with a 3-1 aggregate victory over Greek side PAOK, and Sampaoli remains upbeat about his side's performances this season.

"We have to see the context," he said of the PSG reverse. "We only got back on Thursday, so we had one day to prepare for the match. We tried to control the game and without that control it would've been much worse than 2-1. My team didn't deserve to lose against the best three attackers in the world."
Marseille will be without a star attacker of their own in Arkadiusz Milik. The Poland striker has a thigh complaint, and he is joined on the sidelines by Konrad De La Fuente and Leonardo Balerdi, who have knee and shoulder injuries respectively.
Suspension tightrope
Their potential back three of Saliba, Caleta-Car and Luan Peres are each one booking away from a suspension, as is midfielder Pape Gueye. Peres and Gueye are candidates to be rotated out, with Sead Kolasinac and Amine Harit coming into the side.
Nantes are 10th in the table on 47 points. Les Canaris still have an outside chance of European football whilst they are certainly safe from relegation. They drew 1-1 with Angers SCO on Sunday, with Sofian Boufal's first-half strike cancelled out by Kalifa Coulibaly soon after the restart.

Sampaoli's opposite number Antoine Kombouaré was content with the share of the points, and optimistic his side could give Marseille a bloody nose, thus potentially handing his former employers PSG the Ligue 1 Uber Eats title.
'State of mind'
"We tried everything and we're disappointed with the result," he said. "But I congratulated the players for their performance. It was one of our best home games. We took a very good point and now we move forward. We must continue on this path, we must be able to keep this state of mind, this cohesion, this solidarity, and above all, this quality of play."
Nantes are without left-back Charles Traoré with a knee injury, while Marcus Coco and Roli Pereira de Sa are missing with a sprained ankle and calf strain respectively. Nicolas Pallois - sent off when Marseille won the reverse fixture 1-0 - might have to settle for a place on the bench.
