Stade Rennais FC will have to do without the services of Nayef Aguerd for its next two games. Sent off against FC Lorient on Sunday, the boss of the Rennes defence has been suspended for two matches, as announced by the LFP Disciplinary Committee on Wednesday. He will miss the visit of AS Saint-Etienne on Saturday (R35), as well as the derby in Nantes the following week (R36).
The same penalty was handed down to FC Metz goalkeeper Alexandre Oukidja for his red card at the end of the match against Stade Brestois 29 on Sunday. The goalkeeper will be unavailable for Les Grenats' next two games, away to Montpellier (R35) and at home against OL (R36). The other Metz player sent off on Sunday, Brazilian defender Jemerson, will only be absent for the trip to Montpellier, having received a one-match ban plus one suspended.
Meanwhile, young striker Mohamed-Ali Cho (Angers SCO) and defender Kevin Danso (RC Lens) were the least severely sanctioned, with a one-match suspension each. The Angers prodigy will therefore be absent for SCO's trip to Monaco on Sunday (R35), while the Lens defender will not be there to play host to FC Nantes at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Saturday (R35).
Khazri, Djiku soon suspended
In addition, six players have been suspended for one game, for receiving a third yellow card in a period of ten official games or by revocation of a suspended ban. This sanction takes effect from Tuesday, 3 May at 0:00.
