Kylian Mbappé is almost there. With one round left in the season, the Paris Saint-Germain striker is in the perfect position to win his first title of Ligue 1 Uber Eats assists leader. By bagging his second assist double of the season, on Saturday in Montpellier (R37), the Boy from Bondy took a quasi-decisive lead at the top of the official assists chart.

Di Maria's record in sight

At the Stade de la Mosson, the Parisian no7 delighted Lionel Messi by finding him first of all following a quickly played corner, before finding him in the box with some delightful use of the outside of his boot. With these two assists, the player who was handed the UNFP Trophy for Player of the Year on Sunday is now four assists ahead of Lionel Messi and Benjamin Bourigeaud, his two nearest chasers.

In playmaking mode this season, the Parisian has racked up 17 assists, four of which were for Messi. This puts him equal with Marvin Martin (17 assists with Sochaux in 2010-11) and sees him now set his sights on the record set by Angel Di Maria - the only player to have exceeded this total since the creation of the official assists chart - bagged 18 assists in 2015-16.

Jonathan Clauss at it again

Named at right-back in the UNFP Trophies All-Star team on Sunday, RC Lens' Jonathan Clauss also improved his statistics in Round 37. With a well-measured ball for Arnaud Kalimuendo, the RC Lens' wing-back notched his 11th assist of the season, enough to consolidate him in fourth place in the standings.

A little further back, Kevin Volland settled into the Top 10 by delivering a late assists in AS Monaco's comeback win over Stade Brestois 29. With eight assists, the German has twice as many as nears club rival Caio Henrique and now sits in ninth position.
