A symbol of creativity and inspiration when it comes to dribbling, Neymar (PSG) is unsurprisingly the player who has been the most successful at his activity of since arriving in Ligue 1 Uber Eats in 2018. Key stats...

This season, Kylian Mbappé (PSG) is the only player to have broken the 100-mark for successful dribbles in Ligue 1 Uber Eats. But since he joined the Parisian club in 2017, one player remains in front of him at the top of the speciality's record books: his teammate Neymar Jr.

Dribble king

Since joining Ligue 1 Uber Eats in 2017, along with the Frenchman, Neymar has been the player attempting and completing the most dribbles in the French top flight. Paris Saint-Germain's Brazilian has a record average of nine dribbles attempted per appearance, and what's more he pulls off an average of five of them! That is one dribble attempted every 17 minutes and one completed every 9 minutes! The no10 has managed to reach ten successful dribbles in a match on 11 separate occasions in five different seasons.

He clearly dominates these rankings yet he has only played 91 matches while his nearest chaser Kylian Mbappé (PSG) is just a few points behind, but has played 51 more games than his team-mate over the period. The Frenchman is averaging almost six dribbles per Ligue 1 Uber Eats match, 2.8 of which are successful.

Number of dribbles attempted in Ligue 1 Uber Eats over the last five seasons:
1. Neymar Jr (PSG), 844
2. Kylian Mbappé (PSG), 836
3. Ludovic Blas (FC Nantes), 612
4. Houssem Aouar (OL), 574
5. Jonathan Bamba (LOSC), 493

Neymar's records in Ligue 1 Uber Eats

Over the period, Neymar is the only player to have made 20 attempts in the same match on more than one occasion (four times). To find a comparable performance before him, you have to go back to 2014 and Lucas Moura (PSG, 21 vs Montpellier). The PSG no10 also holds the record for the most dribbles made in a match. Better still, out of the top five for total successful dribbles in a single match, he has four. Only Jérémy Doku (SRFC, 12 vs Bordeaux in May 2021) can get a look into this particular ranking.

Most dribbles attempted in a match: 20 (four times)
Rennes-PSG in December 2017
PSG-LOSC in November 2018
PSG-Monaco in January 2020
PSG-Bordeaux in February 2020

Most successful dribbles in a match: 14 (twice)
PSG-Toulouse in August 2017
PSG-LOSC in November 2018

With Neymar and Mbappé, PSG become number one in dribbling

On the other hand, despite his positive record of 53.3% success in his dribble attempts, Neymar is not at the top of this ranking. It is another Parisian who stands out, namely Marco Verratti, with 80% of successful dribbles (195/244 in 112 games). The Italian is also the most efficient this season (79%), ahead of Aurélien Tchouaméni (AS Monaco, 74.5%).

This at the same time illustrates the dominance of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats 2021-22 champions in terms of dribbles, with 24.8 dribbles attempted and 13.9 completed on average per game since the 2017-18 season and the formation of the Neymar-Mbappé duo. Because before them, PSG ranked second in the specialty behind OM, and Florian Thauvin was the player who attempted the most dribbles. Only Lucas Moura (PSG) managed to beat him in terms of success rate. Since then, Neymar has imposed his art of dribbling on Ligue 1 Uber Eats.
