After months of speculation about a summer move to Real Madrid on a free transfer, Kylian Mbappé is all set to pen a three-year contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain, the Ligue 1 Uber Eats Player of the Year told the club in the lead-up to the final match of the season on Saturday.
Kylian Mbappé is set to stay in Ligue 1 Uber Eats!
World football's hottest property has been tight-lipped since not getting a desired move to Real Madrid last summer, but after months of speculation on his future a decision has been made, and it means that French football fans will have at least one more season of Mbappé's magic alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr.
A suspenseful few months have been capped by a dramatic reveal, with club Paris Saint-Germain announcing news of the decision with a teaser video - featuring Mbappé on the roof of the Parc des Princes, surveying the lit-up arena before turning to the camera to announce that 'Our history is written here' - and a live presentation in the Parc des Princes before kick-off in the match against Metz.
French sports daily l'Equipe has reported that the contract is a three-year extension, linking Mbappé to his hometown club through to 2025, and that while pen has not yet been put to paper, a reversal of the situation seems 'improbable'.
Mbappé will, however, no longer be a team-mate of Angel Di Maria next season. The Argentine has announced that Saturday's final-day clash with Metz would be his last.
