Kylian Mbappé has been snaffling up the records since his Ligue 1 Uber Eats debut. The precocious phenomenon immediately made his mark by becoming AS Monaco's youngest goalscorer in the league aged 17 years and 62 days, and since then he has only confirmed his insatiable appetite for records. The Boy from Bondy wants to 'make history', as he often says, and the 2022-23 season, which opens on Friday, will give him the opportunity to do so.
His records
Kylian Mbappé never wastes time. From his debut on 2 December 2015 at the age of 16 years and 347 days to the present day, the Parisian hitman has never stopped shaking up the hierarchy and writing his name into the rich history of Ligue 1 Uber Eats. The youngest player to have reached the 50-goal mark in the top flight, at 20 years, two months and three days, he repeated the feat two years later by becoming the youngest player in history to reach the 100-goal mark (22 years, three months and one day). By scoring against OL in March 2021, he beat Hervé Revelli, who had achieved this feat with ASSE aged 23 years and five months.
Previously, Mbappé had also become the youngest player (20 years and five months) to score at least 30 goals in a Ligue 1 Uber Eats season, bagging 33 with Paris Saint-Germain in 2018-19; and the youngest scorer in a Classique, scoring against OM at 19 years and 67 days in February 2018. Last season, he did even better by becoming the first player to finish as the league's top scorer and assists leader in the same season.
Records within his grasp
In this 2022-23 season, Mbappé should, barring any surprises, add more records to his tally. If he keeps his usual pace, he should fairly quickly become Ligue 1 Uber Eats' top scorer in the 21st century. With 135 goals in the top flight, he is now just three behind Edinson Cavani and his 138 goals for PSG. However, he is still 20 goals short of becoming the capital club's top scorer in the league, which is somewhere in the ball-park of how many goals he is expected to score this season.
With 24 doubles for PSG, he is only two behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic's record of 26. In terms of hat-tricks, he is three short of overtaking the Parisian record, also set by the Swedish giant, of six hat-tricks during his time in Paris.
Mbappé, who has been Ligue 1 Uber Eats top scorer on four occasions, can also equal Jean-Pierre Papin's record of a five-season top-scorer run with OM from 1988 to 1992.
The challenges he can set himself
Always confident of his abilities, Kylian Mbappé can even set his sights on records previously considered difficult to achieve, foremost among them Josip Skoblar's prestigious record. Since the 1970-71 season, the Dalmatian eagle remains the player who has scored the most goals in a single Ligue 1 Uber Eats season (44, with OM). On his way, Mbappé will also find the mark of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, record holder for the number of goals scored in a league season with PSG (38 in 2015-16). The Boy from Bondy will have to push his limits to do so, as his personal best of 33 (2018-19) is a full 11 goals shy of Skoblar's imposing record.
With his 135 career goals in France's top flight, Kylian Mbappé is currently the 29th-highest scorer in Ligue 1 Uber Eats history. While Delio Onnis (299 goals) is still out of reach, he can move closer to the top ten this season, with Gunnar Andersson and Carlos Bianchi sharing ninth place with 179 goals.
A goal scorer as well as a goal maker, as he proved last season with his 17 assists, the 2018 World Cup winner can also aim for the record for most assists delivered in a season. It is his former teammate Angel Di Maria who currently holds the record, since the creation of the official assists chart, with 18 (2015-16).

- Most goals in a match: 7, André Abegglen, Sochaux-Valenciennes: 12-1 on 25 August 1935 and Jean Nicolas, Valenciennes-Rouen: 1-9 on 1 May 1938 (Mbappé: 4, against OL on 7 October 2018)
- Most assists in a match*: 4, Memphis Depay, Metz-OL: 0-5 on 8 April 2018 (Mbappé: 3, against Lorient on 3 April 2022)
