After moving from Lens to OM this summer, right-sided attacking midfielder Jonathan Clauss is just as dangerous as he was last season. In fact, no-one in Europe's big five leagues can boast a better record than him so far this season...

Jonathan Clauss is still in red-hot form. After two seasons at RC Lens, where he made his Ligue 1 Uber Eats debut, the right-sided wing-back made the 18th league assist of his career in Marseille's 1-1 draw at Brest on Sunday. In the match that rounded out the second round of the 2022-23 Ligue 1 Uber Eats campaign, Jonathan Clauss sent the ball to the far post for Nuno Tavares, who scored the opening goal at the Stade Francis-Le Blé. On Clauss's Marseille debut, it was from one of his crosses that OM also opened the scoring.

Level with Achraf Hakimi

The soon-to-be 30-year-old France international (four caps) has confirmed that he is one of the most dangerous full-backs in Europe's top five leagues. It's simple: no one has done better than him since August 2020, when he made his debut in the elite. Jonathan Clauss has been directly involved in 26 goals (8 goals and 18 assists) in exactly 72 games. Only one player is doing as well: the Parisian fullback and ex-Inter player Achraf Hakimi. AC Milan's Theo Hernández and Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold, on the other hand, have not been as successful.

Defenders involved in the most goals (in the Big 5 since August 2020)
1. Jonathan Clauss (Lens, OM): 8 goals + 18 assists (26 goals)

--. Achraf Hakimi (Inter, PSG): 12+14 (26)
3. Theo Hernández (Milan): 13+11 (24)
4. Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool): 4+19 (23)
5. Andrew Robertson (Liverpool): 4+17 (21)
--. Marco Faraoni (Hellas Verona): 8+13 (21)
--. Raphaël Guerreiro (Borussia Dortmund): 9+12 (21)
8. Jordi Alba (Barcelona): 5+15 (20)
9. Robin Gosens (Atalanta, Inter): 12+7 (19)
10. Borna Sosa (Stuttgart): 1+17 (18)
--. Reece James (Chelsea): 7+11 (18)

Caio Henrique follows Jonathan Clauss

In Ligue 1 Uber Eats, Jonathan Clauss is therefore the assist leader among defenders since August 2020 (18 assists). His nearest rival is Monaco's Caio Henrique, with 12 assists, followed by Rennes' Hamari Traoré (11) to complete the podium. Fourth in this ranking is Achraf Hakimi, who arrived in Paris in the summer of 2021, and who has six Ligue 1 Uber Eats assists to his name.
