Neymar was on target once again for champions Paris Saint-Germain, as was partner in crime Kylian Mbappé as the Ligue 1 Uber Eats top scorer chart begins to take shape.
Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar showed no signs of slowing down his early-season goal blitz when he slotted home the champions' opener against Toulouse. The Brazilian finished off a superb piece of team play to help Christophe Galtier's side get back to winning ways after a draw at home to Monaco last time out. Neymar has an impressive seven goals to his name from his first five league games.
Kylian the conquerer
Also on target in the 3-0 win at the Stade Municipal was Kylian Mbappé who coolly slotted home his fifth league goal of the season after a Lionel Messi assist.
Lyon's unbeaten start to the season is thanks in part to Brazilian forward Tetê who notched his fourth goal of the season against Auxerre. Tetê tapped home Lyon's opener to help Peter Bosz's side to a 2-1 win over the newly-promoted side.
Florian Sotoca scored his first goals since a hat-trick on the opening day of the season to take his season tally to five goals. Sotoca tapped home his first of the evening in the 24th minute before superbly volleying a second late on in Lens' 5-2 win over Lorient.
Team-mate Lois Openda netted his third goal of the season in the victory over Lorient after his summer switch from Belgian side Club Brugge.
Reims' on-loan striker Folarin Balogun found the target yet again in Round 5 as Oscar Garcia's troops swept aside Angers. Balogun fired home a second-half penalty to hand Reims their first win of the season
LOSC forward Jonathan Bamba found the net for the third-successive match but was unable to prevent the 2021 champions from defeat at the hands of Nice. Bamba is LOSC's top scorer this season with three goals to his name.
Another player to register his third goal of the campaign is Montpellier's Elye Wahi. The 19-year-old forward scored Montpellier's second goal in their 2-0 win over Montpellier to cement their solid start to the season.
Notable mentions
Nicolas Pépé scored his first goal back in Ligue 1 Uber Eats since his loan move to Nice from Premier League side Arsenal. Pépé's first victim was his former club LOSC as the 27-year-old opened his account for Les Aiglons from the penalty spot.
There was also a first goal in France's top flight for Welshman Joe Rodon, who headed Rennes in front in their 3-1 win over Brest. Rodon is on loan at the Breton club from Tottenham Hotspur.

Round 6 kicks off on Saturday and Paris Saint-Germain take their unbeaten record to Nantes. Neymar was on target for the champions in the corresponding fixture last season as PSG fell to a 3-1 defeat.
Meanwhile, Tetê and Lyon welcome struggling Angers to the Groupama Stadium and hot-shots Folarin Balogun and Florian Sotoca go head to head as Reims host Lens. Jonathan Bamba will be looking for this fourth goal in as many games when his LOSC side travel to Elye Wahi's free-scoring Montpellier.
