PSG secure narrow win
A first half goal from Neymar was enough for champions Paris Saint-Germain to overcome Brest 1-0 at the Parc des Princes.
Neymar latched onto a pass from Lionel Messi to bury his eighth goal of the campaign (30'), to help the capital club remain at the top of the table.
"We could and should have scored more but we didn’t and that’s why I decided to stay with the attacking trio of Neymar, Messi and Kylian Mbappé," said PSG boss Christophe Galtier after seeing his side stretch their unbeaten start to the season.
"This was to cause problems and have a big lead at half time and be able to have better game management. We made a few mistakes up front, in midfield and even at the back. That gave Brest a lot of hope because there was only a one goal lead."
Marseille sneak past LOSC
A second half goal from defender Samuel Gigot gave Marseille a vital 2-1 victory over LOSC at the Orange Velodrome.
Ismaily fired LOSC into an early lead (12') but the visitors were unable to prevent Alexis Sanchez bundling home his fourth goal of the season (25'). Gigot showed quick reflexes to snatch the winner on the hour mark to claim three huge points for Marseille.
"It was a very important match for us against a direct opponent for the top of the rankings," said Marseille coach Igor Tudor whose side host Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Tuesday. "They won the title two years ago, they have good players and a good coach, who knew how to change the system and how to adapt. But tonight, we were better than them, it's a deserved victory, I want to congratulate my players."
Monaco see off Lyon
Monaco made it back-to-back wins after seeing off Lyon 2-1 at the Stade Louis II.
Benoit Badiashile headed Monaco in front (55') before defensive partner Guillermo Maripan did the same just eight-minutes later. Karl Toko Ekambi pulled one back for Lyon nine-minutes from time but Monaco held on for maximum points.
Lens edge out Troyes
Lens continued their unbeaten start to the season after claiming a 1-0 win at home to Troyes.
Defender Kevin Danso rose highest to head home the only goal of the game (39') to keep Franck Haise's men firmly in touch with the league leaders.
Rennes thrash Auxerre
Rennes put in arguably their best display of the season with a convincing 5-0 win at home to Auxerre.
Kamaldeen Sulemana opened the scoring after three minutes but the hosts had to wait until the hour mark for the floodgates to open. Amine Gouiri netted his first goal for the club (60') before Martin Terrier (68'), Flavien Tait (78') and Matthis Albine (85') put the visitors to the sword.
Lorient flying high
Lorient won for the fifth time this season, overcoming Nantes 3-2 at the Stade Du Moustoir.
Dango Ouattara's goal (19') cancelled out Ignatius Ganago's opener for Les Canari's six-minutes earlier. Goals from Yoann Cathline (60') and Ibrahima Koné (74') stretched the hosts' advantage before Moses Simon pulled one back for Nantes five-minutes from time.
Strasbourg draw again
Strasbourg drew for the fifth time this season after their goalless draw at home to Clermont.
Julien Stéphan's side had Maxime Le Marchand dismissed in the final minute of the game and are still without a win this season.
Delort magic lifts Nice
A superb overhead kick from Andy Delort was enough for Nice to sink his former side Ajaccio 1-0 at the Stade Francois Coty.
Delort produced his moment of magic in the 65th minute to hand Les Aiglons their second win of the season whilst Ajaccio remain at the foot of the table.
Toulouse sneak past Reims
A first-half goal from Zakaria Aboukhlal handed Toulouse a narrow 1-0 win at home to Reims.
Aboukhlal struck on the half hour to give the host's their second win of the campaign.
Angers claim first win
Angers came from behind to beat Montpellier 2-1 at the Stade Raymond Kopa to secure their first win of the season.
Adrien Hunou's effort (9') quickly cancelled out Arnaud Nordin's opener for Montpellier. Sofiane Boufal's penalty (69') proved to be the match winner for Angers who pulled further away from bottom club Ajaccio.
