Neymar's match-winning strike edged him ahead of team-mate Kylian Mbappé in the scoring charts on another rousing weekend of Ligue1 Uber Eats action.

Neymar continued his excellent goal scoring form to net his eighth league goal of the season in Paris Saint Germain's 1-0 win at home to Brest.

The Brazilian latched onto Lionel Messi's sublime pass and fired past Marco Bizot to score the only goal of the game.

Neymar moved one goal ahead of Mbappé who was unable to follow up his midweek Champions League exploits with a goal against the Breton side. But Mbappé was not alone. It was also a quiet weekend for some of the league's leading marksmen and a quieter weekend on the goals front.

Alexis Sanchez continued his good form as he scored Marseille's equalising goal in their 2-1 victory over LOSC at the Orange Velodrome. The Chilean's first-half strike and fourth goal of the season, helped Igor Tudor's side collect a vital three points to stay in touch with leaders PSG.

Lyon's Karl Toko Ekambi registered his fourth goal of the campaign but was unable to prevent his side's 2-1 defeat at Monaco. The Cameroon international fired low past Alexander Nubel as OL fell to a second-successive defeat.

Sublime

Andy Delort scored arguably the goal of the weekend as Nice overcame Ajaccio 1-0. Delort popped up with a superb overhead kick to sink his former employers whilst registering his third goal of the season.

Martin Terrier also scored his third of the season as he slotted home Rennes' third goal in their 5-0 demolition of Auxerre at Roazhon Park. Terrier netted 21 times last season and will hope to get somewhere near equalling that total this time round.

Terrier's new team-mate Amine Gouiri scored his first goal for Rennes in the 5-0 rout. The former Nice forward drilled in a low effort to get off the mark for Les Rouge et Noir.

Round 8 provides our contenders with the final opportunity to boost their tallies ahead of the international break. Neymar and Kylian Mbappé face a tough tip to the Groupama Stadium to face a Lyon side boasting the in-form Tetê, Alexandre Lacazette and Moussa Dembélé.

But then, Marseille play host to Rennes as Alexis Sanchez goes up against Martin Terrier whilst a Lens side consisting of Florian Sotoca and Lois Openda tackle Nantes at Le Beaujoire.
