PSG see off Lyon

A moment of magic from Lionel Messi helped Paris Saint-Germain to a 1-0 win at Lyon.

Messi finished off a superb team move in the fifth minute to hand PSG a vital three points whilst resigning Lyon to a third-consecutive defeat.

"It was a very good game, we played very well," Neymar told PSG TV. "We won the game even though it was difficult and against a tough opponent. We had to be good defensively and in attacking areas and that’s what enabled us to win this game which was the most important thing.”

Marseille drop first home points

Matteo Guendouzi atoned for his early error as Marseille were held to a 1-1 draw against Rennes at the Orange Velodrome.

Guendouzi put through his own net to gift Rennes the lead (25') but made amends early in the second half by heading his side level (52').

"We knew it would be a very difficult match," said Marseille defender Chancel Mbemba "We were poor in the first half and at half time, the coach asked us to move the ball quicker. We improved a lot in the second half and pushed hard for the equaliser, one point is better than losing.

Lorient flying high

Lorient secured their sixth win of the season after comfortable 3-1 victory at Auxerre

In-form Dango Ouattara netted to put Les Merlus ahead (15'), before Terem Moffi scored his sixth goal of the season (36') and Enzo Le Fée added another three-minutes before the break. Gauthier Hein pulled one back for Auxerre five-minutes after half time.

Stalemate at Nantes

High-flying Lens were held to a goalless draw against Nantes at La Beaujoire.

The result extends Lens unbeaten start to the season whilst Nantes stay in 15th place.

Double delight for LOSC

LOSC produced two moments of brilliance in front of goal to see off Toulouse 2-1 at the Decathlon Arena.

Jonathan David fired LOSC in front (5') with a piece of individual magic. Then, Adam Ounas finished off Benjamin Andre's delightful pass (53') five-minutes after Toulouse equalised through Fares Chaibi.

Monaco on a roll

Monaco made it three league wins on the bounce with a comprehensive 3-0 victory at Reims.

Second-half goals from Aleksandr Golovin (47'), Takumi Minamino (87') and a first of the season for Wissam Ben Yedder (90') gave Philippe Clément's side maximum points.

Montpellier add to Strasbourg's woes

Téji Savanier's late winner handed Montpellier a 2-1 victory over Strasbourg at the Stade de la Mosson.

Arnaud Nordin headed the hosts in front (17') but Strasbourg thought they had salvaged a point when Habib Diallo levelled four-minutes from time. Savanier broke Strasbourg hearts in the fifth minute of added time when he converted from the penalty spot.

Baldé inspires Troyes

Mama Baldé scored twice and assisted another as Troyes came from behind to win at Clermont.

Johan Gastien fired Clermont in front in the third minute but an inspired fightback began with Baldé equalising twenty-minutes later before adding a second nine-minutes after half time. Renaud Ripart made sure of the points with seven-minutes remaining to move Troyes up to 10th in the table.

Back-to-back wins for Angers

Angers registered a second-successive victory with a superb 1-0 win at Nice

Nice got off to the worst possible start when Jean-Clair Todibo was sent off after just nine seconds. Angers made use of the numerical advantage when Nabil Bentaleb fired in the only goal of the game two-minutes before the interval. Sofiane Boufal was dismissed late on for the visitors.

Ajaccio up and running

Bottom-club Ajaccio snatched their first win of the season by toppling 19th-placed Brest 1-0 at the Stade Francis le Blé. Romain Hamouma grabbed the winning goal (65') to close the gap at the bottom to one point.
