AS Monaco right-back Ruben Aguilar will miss the upcoming meetings with Trabzonspor in the UEFA Europa League after being ruled out for a few weeks with a foot injury.

Aguilar has been a keen player for Monaco this season, featuring in seven games in all competitions despite having the highly-rated Vanderson for company in his preferred position.

The former Montpellier Hérault SC man has averaged three tackles and clearances per game for Monaco this season, as well as making six progressive passes per 90 minutes played.

Aguilar agony

But the 3-0 win at Sade de Reims before the international break will be Aguilar's last for a while after the recurrence of an old foot injury.

"Ruben has a problem with one foot," lamented Monaco coach Philippe Clement. "He had an inflammation that got worse. Because of this, he'll be out for a few weeks.

"We now have to look at the alternatives in this position because I don't think Vanderson can play all 11 matches for 90 minutes until November."
