Crowned as assist leader in Ligue 2 BKT last season - equalling Zinedine Ferhat's record of 20 assists - Branco van den Boomen continues to showcase his passing skills in Ligue 1 Uber Eats. The Dutch midfielder hit his first double in the top flight in Round 9, moving up to fourth place on the league's official assists chart.

The Dutch midfielder was at the heart of Zakaria Aboukhlal's goal with an inch-perfect flick, and then Farès Chaïbi's strike with a subtle back-heel, showing the full range of his skills against Montpellier Hérault SC. With a total of four assists this season, he is now fourth in the table and three behind Lionel Messi and Neymar, who were both unable to set up any goals at the weekend. A true playmaker for Les Violets, van den Boomen has provided 31 assists in 81 league games since arriving in Toulouse in the summer of 2020.

Jonathan Clauss on the rise

Jonathan Clauss, who hit two assists in Round 9, was also outstanding on his return from international duty with France. In Angers, the Olympique de Marseille right wing-back, exceptionally on the left for the occasion, was involved in all three of his club's goals (one goal and two assists) - enough to improve his statistics in the elite (nine goals and 21 assists in 79 Ligue 1 Uber Eats matches). He thus moves up to sixth place in the official assists ranking this season, with four assists.
