Lorient striker Terem Moffi capped off a tremendous weekend after netting two goals to help his side climb to second in the table, whilst firing himself to the top of the scoring charts.

Moffi hit top spot in the scoring charts thanks to his brace in Lorient's Breton derby win at Brest on Sunday.

The Nigerian's double took his tally to eight goals for the season and now sits top of the pile alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappé. His first goal came in the 24th minute and served as an equaliser after Brest had gone ahead seven-minutes earlier. His superb left-footed finish set Lorient on their way to their eighth win of the season

His second came from a quick reaction and proved to be the winning goal to send unfancied Lorient above Marseille and into second in the table - one point adrift of leaders PSG.

Derby day hero

LOSC striker Jonathan David scored the winner in the Derby du Nord against Lens, to hand their bitter rivals a first defeat of the season.

David netted his seventh of the season from the penalty spot after Benjamin Andre was impeded in the box. The Canadian has been in excellent goalscoring form this season and sits just one goal behind the leaders after his derby day exploits.

Lyon forward Tete notched his fifth goal of the season in Friday night's 1-1 draw at home to Toulouse. The Brazilian broke the deadlock just two minutes into the clash but his side were unable to hold on to their advantage.

Martin Terrier has found his scoring boots after a slow start to the season. The Rennes forward found the net for the fifth time in his side's comfortable 3-0 win over Nantes.

Terrier struck 11-minutes from time to hand Rennes a precious three-points as Bruno Genesio's men continued their ascent toward the top end of the table.

Breel Embolo's smart finish set Monaco on their way to a 2-0 win at Montpellier as the principality side registered their fifth-consecutive league win.

Embolo fired in the opener on the stroke of half time to register his fourth goal of the season.

Next up…

Neymar and Kylian Mbappe may have fired blanks in Round 10 but both will be amped up to add to their goals haul next Sunday night when Paris Saint-Germain host rivals Marseille in Le Classique at the Parc des Princes.

But before they take to the pitch in the capital, Terem Moffi could be the outright top scorer if he fires Lorient to a victory over Reims. A win for Les Merlus would see them take top spot in the table ahead of PSG's clash with Marseille.

Meanwhile, Jonathan David and LOSC travel to Strasbourg, Florian Sotoca and Lens host Montpellier and Martin Terrier's Rennes entertain Lyon at Roazhon Park.
