PSG sneak past Marseille

Paris Saint-Germain moved three-points clear at the top of the table after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Marseille at the Parc des Princes.

Neymar settled matters on the stroke of half time when he finished off Kylian Mbappé's pass to fire the champions in front. Marseille were reduced to ten men in the second half after Samuel Gigot was dismissed for a reckless challenge on Neymar.

"It's a very important match for our supporters and I think it was important to win it for them," said PSG coach Christophe Galtier. "They created an amazing atmosphere - the Parc was at boiling point. On a personal level, we know the importance of getting a result in a Classique. After the last three matches, which were average, it was important to get back to winning ways. These types of games are decisive and we were face to face with a Marseille team that has made a good start to the season. It was important to get the win."

Marseille coach Igor Tudor added: "We played well and apart from the opening few minutes, we stuck to our game plan. We could have conceded more goals but we had chances to score too. It was a good game to watch and even though it ended 1-0, it could have been 4-4 or 5-5."

Lorient held at home

Lorient were unable to break down a resolute Reims back line in a goalless draw at the Stade du Moustoir.

Reims were reduced to nine men after Dion Lopy and Emmanuel Agbadou were both dismissed in the second half but the visitors were able to hold on for a battling point.

Lens bounce back

Lens responded to their disappointing derby defeat last week with a 1-0 win at home to Montpellier

Substitute Wesley Saïd was the match winner, firing past Jonas Omlin (67') to hand Franck Haise's men an important three points.

Former duo down Lyon

Goals from Martin Terrier and Amine Gouiri helped Rennes come from behind to beat Lyon 3-2 at Roazhon Park.

Lyon took the lead through Alexandre Lacazette (23') but the two former OL stars turned the game on its head when Terrier (38') and Gouiri (47') netted for the hosts. Lacazette then equalised from close range (72') before Terrier's header won it for Rennes 13-minutes from time.

Ten-man Monaco held

Monaco took an early lead but were pegged back in a 1-1 draw with Clermont at the Stade Louis II.

Midfielder Mohamed Camara was dismissed for a heavy challenge (17') but the numerical disadvantage didn't stop Monaco taking the lead through Breel Embolo (31'). Clermont hit back in the second half through Komnen Andric (53') to earn a superb away point.

David nets twice in LOSC stroll

LOSC followed up last weekend's derby victory with a resounding 3-0 win at Strasbourg.

Canadian striker Jonathan David scored twice for Paulo Fonseca's men (41' & 76') before Rémy Cabella fired home from the edge of the box (80') to pick up their sixth win of the season.

Toulouse hold on for win

Toulouse edged out Angers 3-2 in an entertaining clash at the Stadium de Toulouse.

Nabil Bentaleb's superb free-kick for Angers (33') cancelled out Brecht Dejaegere's opener for Toulouse. The hosts extended their lead through Branco van den Boomen's penalty (40') before Stijn Spierings added a third (67'). Amine Salama pulled one back for Angers in added time.

Auxerre hold Nice

Auxerre came from behind to pick up a point in a 1-1 draw at home to Nice.

Delort fired Nice in front (20') but Lucien Favre's men were unable to prevent Nuno da Costa heading Auxerre leave three-minutes before the break.

Nantes end winless run

Nantes picked up their first win since August after a 4-1 victory over Brest at La Beaujoire.

Les Canari's fell behind when Noah Fadiga put Brest in front (18') but two goals in as many minutes from Moses Simon (35') and Ignatius Ganago (36') turned the tide in favour of Antoine Kombouaré's men.

Mostafa Mohamed added a third (70') before Moussa Sissoko finished off Brest two-minutes from time.

Points shared at Troyes

Troyes and Ajaccio battled to a 1-1 draw at the Stade de l'Aube.

Both goals came late in the game with Jackson Porozo firing Troyes in front (76') before Mounaïm El Idrissy levelled up for the Corsican side (88').
