Kylian Mbappé took hold of top spot in the scoring charts after his brace helped leaders Paris Saint-Germain overcome Ajaccio 3-0 at the Stade François Coty.

With teammate Neymar out suspended and Jonathan David unable to add to his tally in Round 12, Mbappé took full advantage thanks to his blossoming partnership with Lionel Messi.

The Argentine's pinpoint pass found Mbappé who made no mistake to open the scoring midway through the first half.

The Frenchman's second again came from some neat play from Messi, finishing up with Mbappé firing low past Ajaccio 'keeper Benjamin Leroy.

Magic Messi

Although the 23-year-old phenomenon netted his ninth and tenth goals of the season, the goal of the game belonged to Messi whose dazzling footwork and cool finish led to his sixth strike of the season.

Alexandre Lacazette continued his excellent goal scoring form when he scored a late winner for Lyon in their 2-1 win at Montpellier. Lacazette fired home his seventh goal of the season from close range to hand Laurent Blanc his first victory as Lyon coach.

Elye Wahi scored one of the goals of the weekend when his scissor kick pulled Montpellier level against Lyon. Wahi has now netted six goals in what has proved to be an impressive season for the teenage French star.

Folarin Balogun got himself back among the goals in Reims' 2-1 win at home to Auxerre. The loan striker fired Reims in front on the half-hour to notch his seventh goal of what has been an impressive season so far.

Rennes forward Amine Gouiri scored for the fourth-consecutive match in Rennes' 2-1 win at Angers. The 22-year-old put Rennes in front at the Stade Raymond Kopa with his fifth league goal of the season as he continues to prove influential for Bruno Génésio's side.
