Lionel Messi is back on the front foot. Paris Saint-Germain's Argentine striker found his voice on the Isle of Beauty, doubling up on assists for Kylian Mbappé in the Parisian victory in Ajaccio (0-3). Now La Pulga is the only in first place on the official assists chart, two lengths ahead of Neymar (PSG) and four ahead of Caio Henrique (AS Monaco), his two closest rivals.

Giving Mbappé the ammo

Lionel Messi has been very inspirational away from home this season, providing eight of his nine assists on the road, and has a great technical relationship with one of his fellow attackers. Indeed, the number 30 has delivered six assists for Kylian Mbappé this season in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, the highest total from one player to another in the big five European leagues in 2022-23.

With his six goals and 9 assists, the former Barcelona man has been involved in 46.9% of PSG's goals this season. With 23 assists in Ligue 1 Uber Eats since his arrival last summer, he is already only nine units away from the Top 10 of currently active assist providers in our league.
