RC Lens boss Franck Haise was thrilled with the Loïs Openda-powered 3-0 win over Toulouse on Friday, but was conscious of the fact that his side have to stay focused in order to turn their special season into an extraordinary one.

It may have taken until the second half, but Lens ran out deserved 3-0 winners against Toulouse Friday night as Loïs Openda bagged an unanswered hat-trick to keep Lens exceptional form alive.

'We need to do a lot more'

Now with seven wins from their seven home encounters this season, Lens are flying high in second place - just two points shy of leaders PSG ahead of their Round 13 clash - and Haise is fully appreciative - even though he's not celebrating anything just yet.

"We are happy. Happy to have 30 points and also to not have shipped a goal. You have to take it and enjoy it," said the Lens boss before getting serious. "But there must be a follow-up. It's only round 13. We need to do a lot more. I'm satisfied but the most important match is always the next one."

'Keep the pressure on'

This is the mentality that has served the club well since Haise brought them up from Ligue 2 in 2020-21, and Haise is well aware that something very special is going at the northern club now that it's back and thriving in the top flight.

"It's not a small thing, that's for sure. We've had some great things going on here for a while but I have to stay measured," he admitted. "I'll let go of the pressure on the evening of Round 38. I'm also enjoying the moment but you have to keep the pressure on. Right now I'm happy for the team, in the atmosphere of this stadium. People are leaving happy and full of pride. That is also important."

Lens' next appointment is the Round 14 trip to Angers next Saturday evening.
