Montpellier goalkeeper Jonas Omlin is unavailable for Sunday's Ligue 1 Uber Eats clash with Clermont after injuring his left ankle, while defender Enzo Tchato will be out of action after injuring his left thigh.

Jonas Omlin (28, four caps), who suffered a sprained left ankle on 22 October against Lyon, is expected to resume training next week, a fortnight before the start of the World Cup in Qatar (20 November - 18 December).

"It was too risky to bring him back for Clermont," said Montpellier coach Romain Pitau. "We want to be very careful. Jonas should return to training next week."

The Montpellier goalkeeper, who underwent an ultrasound exam on Thursday, will again be replaced by Senegal international Bingourou Kamara. Jonas Omlin has also been the understudy to Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Yann Sommer in the Swiss national team for several seasons.

Tchato too

Right-back Enzo Tchato, 19, has a left thigh injury and will be out for the next two matches, according to Pitau. He was injured in the match against Lyon and suffered a setback when he came on as a substitute in Sunday's defeat at Rennes.

Montpellier, who have now lost five consecutive matches, are 15th in the league ahead of their meeting in Auvergne.
