Ligue 1 Uber Eats pair Khéphren Thuram and Brice Samba have earned maiden France call-ups for the upcoming matches against the Netherlands and the Republic of Ireland.
Thuram is a youth international with France, a midfielder who has been central to OGC Nice's resurgence under Didier Digard in 2023.
Thuram is the younger son of France's record appearance maker Lilian, who won the FIFA World Cup on home turn in 1998 on the way to 142 caps. Elder brother Marcus, of Borussia Monchengladbach, is also in the squad.
Former Olympique de Marseille and Nottingham Forest man Samba is the son of one-time Republic of Congo goalkeeper Brice Samba, meanwhile, and he trained with les Diables Rouges in 2012, but was never capped.
He has kept 10 clean sheets in 27 Ligue 1 Uber Eats games for RC Lens this season, and has been given a chance to impress with Hugo Lloris and former OM teammate Steve Mandanda, like Varane, calling time on their international careers.
