Distance covered, sprints... Find out which top-flight players have turned in the best athletic performances over the first 28 rounds of the 2022-23 Ligue 1 Uber Eats campaign.

Salis Abdul Samed is not sparing the horses. The 22-year-old Ghanaian international arrived at RC Lens last summer after three years at Clermont Foot and has lost none of his stamina. Since the beginning of the season, he has been the most active player in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, running 12 km per match. Les Sang et Or have clearly found the ideal replacement for Cheick Doucouré in terms of zeroing ground and winning back a maximum of possession in midfield.

Thibault De Smet, runner-up to Lens dynamo, has also showed his marathon qualities by running an average of 11.6 km per match. The 24-year-old Belgian has been the undisputed starter on the left side of the Stade de Reims defence since the appointment of Will Still, and has seized his chance. Hoewever, he is now just a hair's breadth ahead of Birama Touré on the podium, the defensive midfielder and captain of AJ Auxerre just missing out on second place (11.4km per game).

Among the top performers this season, eight midfielders are in the top ten. Jonathan David (LOSC) is the only striker to make it into the top ten, covering 11km per game.

For the record of the greatest distance covered in a match this season, it is to Stade de Reims that we must turn. Marshall Munetsi, a tireless midfielder, is the current winner, having covered more than 14km in Round 16. The Zimbabwean, in fine form after the World Cup break, also ran the third-longest distance in a match this season (13.92km), four days after his record, in Round 16. Only Haris Belkebla was able to hold off the Reims man, having hit the second-best mark with 13.94km run in Round 21.

Single-match records (distance covered):
1. Marshall Munetsi (Stade de Reims): 14.08 km against Stade Rennais, 29/12/2022
2. Haris Belkebla (Stade Brestois 29): 13.94 km at Lyon, 01/02/2023
3. Marshall Munetsi (Stade de Reims): 13.92 km in Lille, 02/01/2023
4. Mickaël Barreto (AC Ajaccio): 13.85 km in Reims, on 05/03/2023
5. Haris Belkebla (Stade Brestois 29): 13.83 km in Strasbourg, on 05/03/2023

Zakaria Aboukhlal, the particle accelerator

Toulouse FC have a real sprinting machine this season. Recruited last summer from AZ Alkmaar (NED), Zakaria Aboukhlal has quickly demonstrated his ability to make runs all day long. Be it on the left or the right, the player who finished fourth in the last World Cup with Morocco has not yet found an equal in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, as he is the player who has made the most sprints per match, on average, since the beginning of the season (24.4).

Behind the TFC man, Franck Honorat has been clocking some serious numbers: the Stade Brestois 29 striker takes second place in the category with 23.4 sprints per game. AS Monaco left-back Caio Henrique comes third (22.8), ahead of another full-back, Lyon's Malo Gusto (21.8). Already well placed in terms of distance covered, Jonathan David is also there. The Canadian striker from LOSC closes the top five with 21.5 sprints per game.

Adrien Truffert, who is currently injured, holds the record for a single match. The Stade Rennais left-back impressed in Round 26 with 40 sprints. He is ahead of Franck Honorat (38 sprints in R6) and Mounaïm El Idrissy (38 sprints in R18) on the podium. Proof of his qualities, Aboukhlal has twice notched the third-best performance of the season (36 sprints in R3 and R14), a level where we also find Lens striker Loïs Openda.

Single-match records (sprints):
1. Adrien Truffert (Stade Rennais): 40 sprints against OM, 05/03/2023
2. Franck Honorat (Stade Brestois 29): 38 sprints against RC Strasbourg Alsace, 04/09/2022
