OGC Nice head coach Francesco Farioli had some choice words of praise for his side which convincingly beat Paris Saint-Germain (2-3) at the Parc des Princes on Friday night, going beyond his De Zerbi-inspired tactical set up
OGC Nice head coach Fransesco Farioli had just overseen a deserved 3-2 win over Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes, and he couldn't contain his admiration for side's performance. The Italian boss praised his players' attitude, and highlighted the pivotal role of Terem Moffi (who sank PSG with a decisive double).
Farioli admired his team's effort "beyond the tactical aspect, in the pressing. I saw a team of warriors. We've known how to play like this for several games in a row: how to defend, how to get the ball back so we can project ourselves on the game."
The manager of Les Aiglons also praised how his team knew "how to stay in the game mentally, how to read situations and stay very concentrated."
"I'd like us to keep up this attention to detail so that we can play other matches of this quality. We came here humbled by this [PSG] team. This pressure, this intensity is part of our DNA."
Farioli praises Terem Moffi
Terem Moffi's scored a storming double for Nice after Gaëtan Laborde opened the scoring in the first half. The Nigerian's excellent showing at the Parc des Princes was also the subject of praise from his boss. "I trust Moffi so much with his physical presence and his talent. Some have tried to say that he isn't suited for our way of playing, but he is."
"This evening is the consequence of his previous good performances in the past."
