As the 2023 Asian Cup approaches, we're actively previewing the Ligue 1 players set to shine and represent their countries in Qatar. Here's a look at which teams from France's top flight will contribute players to this tournament.

Japan: Takumi Minamino, Keito Nakamura and Junya Ito

The Samurai Blue will have a couple of Ligue 1 players in their ranks as they look to win a fifth Asian Cup. Monaco's Takumi Minamino will be one of the prominent players on their squad. Minamino isn’t the only player from France’s top flight on the team, as Japan will count on a pair of Stade de Reims teammates, Keito Nakamura and Junya Ito.

Uzbekistan: Abdukodir Khusanov

The White Wolves will count on RC Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov to help the team. Khusanov has appeared in seven games in all competitions for Lens this 2023-24 Ligue 1 season. Since 2004, Uzbekistan has advanced into the knockout stages, with their best showing coming in 2011, when they finished in fourth place.

South Korea: Kang-in Lee

The Tigers of Asia will look to win the Asian Cup for the first time since 1960. South Korea has come close to winning their third trophy, as the team finished as runners-up on four occasions. Paris Saint-Germain's Kang-in Lee will play a prominent role for manager Jürgen Klinsmann and his squad to see if this is the year their drought ends.

Jordan: Mousa Al-Tamari

In their four Asian Cup appearances, Jordan has advanced past the group stage on three occasions. The team will count on Montpellier HSC's Mousa Al-Tamari to ensure the nation can qualify for the knockout stage for the fourth time in their Asian Cup history. Al-Tamari has appeared in 16 games in all competitions for the Ligue 1 side, scoring three goals and registering three assists.
