In one of the biggest matches of the weekend, Paris Saint-Germain host a Stade Rennais side who have won six matches in a row in the league.

Can Stade Rennais shake off their European disappointment and keep climbing the table? That's the question on the agenda for today's late afternoon match as the Bretons travel to face the leaders on the back of six straight league wins. Rennes may have lost their tie against AC Milan, but offered a spirited performance in a 3-2 win, and will be eager to take the chance to potentially move ahead of Lens and into the European places.

PSG had no midweek action themselves, but will view this match as an important litmus test ahead of the return leg of their Champions League tie against Real Sociedad. Off the back of a hard-fought win against another Breton side, FC Nantes, the leaders are on a three-game winning run themselves, and are unbeaten in 17 Ligue 1 matches.

To get one over on the Bretons, though, the hosts will have to cope with a raft of absences, particularly in defence. Milan Skriniar and Presnel Kimpembe remain long-term absentees, but captain Marquinhos is also unavailable through injury, meaning that Luis Enrique will likely field the pair of Danilo Pereira and Lucas Beraldo centrally.

Further forward, he should play the all-French trio of Bradley Barcola, Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé in attack, with Warren Zaïre-Emery, Manuel Ugarte, Marco Asensio and Vitinha among his options in midfield in what's likely to be a 4-3-3 for the hosts.

Rennes will likely counter with a 4-4-2, with Martin Terrier and Arnaud Kalimuendo leading the line. Even with one eye on their upcoming Coupe de France quarterfinal in the week, Julien Stéphan is sure to field a first-choice side, with Thursday's hat trick hero Benjamin Bourigeaud and Désire Doué in the eleven as well.

With both teams far from shy about expressing themselves in attack, this should be a thrilling match typical of those these two sides have played out in recent years, even if the leaders are more than comfortable atop the table.
