On Thursday evening Paris Saint-Germain gave an injury update - notably concerning 'keeper Keylor Navas and captain Thiago Silva-after their historic qualification for the last four of the Champions League.

As the Champions League semi-final against RB Leipzig takes place next Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain gave a medical update on the state of their injured players. Several Parisians are uncertain to be fit to face the German club, namely Keylor Navas, Thiago Silva, Marco Verratti and Layvin Kurzawa.

As for their Costa Rican keeper, PSG announced that he "came out of the match on Wednesday evening with a pain in his right hamstring. Clinical examination and an MRI confirmed a lesion of the femoral biceps. A clinical reassessment will be made on Saturday but participation in Tuesday's match is uncertain".

Optimism for Thiago Silva

The capital club said they were "optimistic about participating on Tuesday" against Leipzig, referring to their Brazilian captain. PSG said Thiago Silva "finished the game with a contracture of the right hasmtring, which clinical examination and MRI confirmed as a low-grade injury".

After being forced to sit out the quarter-final with a calf knock, Marco Verratti "continues his daily work in the pool and on his bike". The Champions League semi-finalists added that "a reassessment will be made on Saturday".

Concerning left-back Layvin Kurzawa, the club noted that "he will continue his recovery programme both indoors and out on the pitch. He will be unavailable for the next match".
