Neymar will again watch from the sidelines as Paris Saint-Germain continue their Coupe de France defence on Saturday with a Round of 32 tie at fellow Ligue 1 Uber Eats side Brest, though the Brazilian superstar could feature in the midweek UEFA Champions League tie with Barcelona.

Neymar has been unavailable since picking up an adductor injury in PSG's cup win at second division Caen in the previous round on 10 February.

He has missed the capital club's last four league games and will sit out the trip to Brittany in the hope he will be ready come Wednesday's UEFA Champions League Last 16 second-leg tie with his former club, Barcelona.

"He won't be in the squad for the match against Brest. We are happy with the way he is coming on and we will see in the days to come whether he'll be able to be in the squad against Barcelona," explained PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino, who suggested he would field a strong team at the Stade Francis Le Blé.

"I think that the Coupe de France is an important competition, one all clubs take part in. The goal is to be the best. It's special because it's a different format, a direct knockout format. Everyone appreciates it.

"The match against Barcelona? We have to respect the Coupe de France. We are focused on the difficult match to come on Saturday against Brest. They will make life difficult for us, and we are 100% focused on the game."

PSG's fellow title challengers Lyon are also in action on Saturday with a trip to Ligue 2 outfit Sochaux. Tino Kadewere (muscle strain) is the only major absentee.

Lorient, Metz, Montpellier and Lens are the other top-flight sides playing on Saturday.
