Marco Verratti has spoken of his pride after captaining Paris Saint-Germain to their Coupe de France win over Brest on Saturday.
The Italy international had missed PSG's previous two matches, but returned in Brittany and delivered two assists while leading the team to a 3-0 win at the Stade Francis Le Blé.
"It's a Coupe de France match that we took very seriously. We scored three goals, nobody picked up an injury, we won the match and we are happy about that. I felt very good, I have worked a lot in training," said Verratti.
"What I like most is being on the pitch. I feel good physically and that's the most important thing. I have been in Paris for a long time now, so being captain of a team like this one, which has given me everything, it's a huge source of pride. As I always say, I love this club. The win with the captain's armband make it a magnificent evening."
Elsewhere, Lyon cruised through to the Last 16 thanks to a comfortable 5-2 home win against second division Sochaux - Rayan Cherki scored twice for the hosts. Metz and Montpellier both came through, beating Valenciennes 4-0 Alès 2-1 respectively, but Lens and Lorient both fell to Red Star and amateur side Le Puy.
