Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino was duly pleased with his side's 3-0 Coupe de France win over Feignies-Aulnoye to win through to the round of 32 - where they will face D4 outfit Vannes while there will be at least three all-Ligue 1 Uber Eats clashes, among them a northern derby between Lens and Lille at the Stade Bollaert!

Feignies-Aulnoye put on a spirited performance as Paris Saint-Germain came calling on in the Coupe de France round of 64 on Sunday night, but there was no fairy tale upset on the cards as penalties converted by Kylian Mbappé (16') and Mauro Icardi (31') paved the way for Mbappé to cap the dominant performance by completing his brace (51') and sending PSG through to the round of 32.

Poch: 'We deserved it'

"I am happy that we have made it through to the next round, which is good. It was a very professional performance and we deserved it. We are happy because we have come here, we have won and there are no issues. So it's a good feeling," said the Argentine, who is pleased with his side's first half of the season. "Yes, of course, we have qualified for the Champions League, we are first in Ligue 1 and are now through to the next round of the Coupe de France and this is so important."

Paris Saint-Germain will face fourth-division Brittany side Vannes in the next round, another tie with a gulf between the sides but one in which the big guns will have to remain wary.

"Of course, it's going to be important," said the PSG boss after learning of the draw in the wake of his side's victory. "It's a bit unlucky that we can't play at home. But we need to be professional and go there to try to qualify for the next round too."

Big guns set to clash

The round of 32, to be played on 2 and 3 January 2022, will also feature one other David vs Goliath clash as fifth-division amateurs Chauvingy play host to Marseille, as well as three all-Ligue 1 Uber Eats clashes.

Brest will play host to Bordeaux, Strasbourg will travel to Montpellier and LOSC will travel to the seething den of their arch-rivals Lens in what should a be a real rip-snorter.

Meanwhile Nice could be up against OL should Les Gones prevail in their tie with Ligue 2 BKT side Paris FC, which is to be replayed at a date TBD after the match was abandoned due to crowd trouble on Friday night.
