The final of this season’s Coupe de France between FC Nantes and OGC Nice has been brought forward a day to May 7.

The match at the Stade de France was initially scheduled for Sunday, May 8 but will now go ahead 24 hours earlier on the Saturday after the French Football Federation (FFF) and broadcasters reached agreement.

“This decision will allow all supporters of OGC Nice and FC Nantes to more easily take part in the great celebration of football that the Coupe de France final is,” said the FFF in a statement.

The final had initially been set for May 8 in case any of the finalists were still involved in European competition at that stage of the season. AS Monaco remain involved in the UEFA Europa League, the semi-final second legs of which are set for May 5. However, the principality club were knocked out on penalties by Nantes in the Cup semi-finals.
