Olympique de Marseille heads into the second leg of their UEFA Europa League Round of 16 tie against Villarreal on Thursday at the Estadio de la Cerámica boasting a 4-0 aggregate lead.

Marseille's attack exploded in the first leg, including a brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and l’OM will now look to carry that offensive momentum on the road to close out the Yellow Submarine and punch their ticket to the quarterfinals.

Jean-Louis Gasset has boosted the Marseille offense since he took over as manager last month. Under his leadership, the team has scored three or more goals in four out of their last five games across all competitions.

Aubameyang is in top form when it comes to scoring goals. The veteran striker has found the back of the net in his last five games, even recording two goals in three out of his previous five matches.

The uptick in goals under Gasset has also translated to wins. Marseille is riding a five-game winning streak across all competitions as they travel to Spain for the crucial leg.

Villarreal have a significant deficit to overcome, but they did secure a 3-2 win this past weekend over Real Betis to generate positive momentum. The Spanish team will also have the home crowd behind them, so Marseille will be in a challenging environment as they aim to advance.
