The France national team secured a 3-0 friendly win over Luxembourg on Wednesday night at Stade Saint-Symphorien in Metz, while France’s U20s drew 2-2 but lost on penalty kicks 4-3 to Mexico's U23 team at the Maurice Revello Tournament.

Beginning with the senior team, Didier Deschamps and his squad are gearing up for UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany. They look to head into the tournament with positive momentum as Les Bleus are a favorite to win the competition this summer.

In the first 45 minutes, France generated ten total shots against Luxembourg and eventually found the back of the net late in the first half. Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappé connected with Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, who scored and made the contest 1-0.

France would add to their lead in the second half with Mbappé also having a hand in the second goal. Olympique de Marseille standout Jonathan Clauss scored from a shot outside the box that hit the top bar, and the ball went into the net for the 2-0 lead.

After generating two assists, Mbappé would secure a goal to make it 3-0 as his former PSG teammate Bradley Barcola connected with the 25-year-old for the goal.

France U20 team falls in heartbreaking fashion

While the senior team won their match, the U20 team didn't have the same luck. Following a scoreless first half, Club Querétaro's Ettson Ayón opened the scoring in the 58th minute to give Mexico a 1-0 lead.

Minutes later, France responded courtesy of a goal from Adana Demirspor's Edouard Michut in the 63rd minute. FC Nantes' Matthis Abline would give Les Bleus a 2-1 lead in the 77th minute, but the lead wouldn't last long.

Mexico scored the game-tying goal in the 86th minute, courtesy of a strike from Cruz Azul's Rodrigo Huescas. With the match tied 2-2, the contest went to a penalty kick shootout, where the Mexican team secured a 4-3 win.
