Areola to return for Arsenal clash?

UEFA Champions League

Paris Saint-Germain 'keeper Alphonse Areola, out of the France squad with a sprained ankle, will be out for 10-14 days but should be ready to go for the crunch Champions League clash with Arsenal on November 23.

Alphonse Areola has hit the ground running since returning to French football after a year in Spain with Villarreal, but the France 'keeper will be doing little running over the next 10-14 days as he looks to recover form the ankle sprain that has ruled him out of Les Bleus' World Cup 2018 qualifier against Sweden and next week's friendly against the Côte d'Ivoire.

Areola reportedly injured the ankle in training on Saturday, kicking a ball with the very end of his foot. If his recovery goes to plan, he should be eligible to once again oust German 'keeper Kevin Trapp from between the sticks for the Week 13 Ligue 1 clash at home to Nantes.

Crunch time

Failing that, the club is confident that the 23-year-old shot-stopper will be available as Paris Saint-Germain travel to London to take on Arsenal in a Matchday 5 clash that will more than likely decide top spot in a Group A dominated by the two capital clubs.
