Coupe de France: Saint-Etienne-Bordeaux in the last 64
The draw for the Coupe de France's last 64 was held on Monday night, with Saint-Etienne-Bordeaux and Rennes-Nancy the only all-L1 clashes as France's élite join the competition in matches to be played on January 7 and 8.
After Les Verts won out 3-1 in the Coupe de la Ligue over Bordeaux earlier this season, Francis Gillot's side will have a chance to take revenge as the two sides face off in the last 64 of the French Cup. Finalists in season 2008-09, Rennes will have to eliminate Ligue 1 rivals Nancy to keep their dreams of a repeat performance afloat.
The draw, held in Amiens on Monday night, also pitted Ligue 1 outfits Rennes and Nancy against each other, while reigning Coupe de France holders Lille - who secured the title in dramatic fashion over PSG last season thanks to a spectaculat Ludovic Obraniak free kick, will face the winners of the amateur-league face-off between Chantilly and Le Portel.
Leaders draw well
Joint Ligue leaders Montpellier and Paris Saint-Germain both fared well in the draw, pitted against amateurs Prix les Mézières and fifth-division Locminé respectively while OL take on local rivals Lyon-Duchère (D4) and OM battle third-division Parisian side Red Star 93.
