Thomas Tuchel (Paris Saint-Germain coach): "Winning against Real Madrid is always hard because they are a fantastic side, especially in the Champions League. We deserved to win because I think we played with more intensity and we had that little bit of luck you need to get that first goal. Playing at the Parc with our supporters is a big help - they motivate us to give everything."
Keylor Navas (Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper): "I'm very happy tonight because we won, not because we beat Real Madrid. My teammates did a great job. I have no resentment against anyone at Real Madrid. I just want to enjoy my time here at my new club. Everyone here is very motivated and I will defend my new jersey as I did before, with Madrid, giving the best of myself. I want to continue to write my own story. The one I experienced in Madrid was very beautiful, but now I'm here, in a new project. I want to be happy here, enjoy every moment and make my family feel good, that's the main thing."
Idrissa Gueye (Paris Saint-Germain midfielder): "It's the perfect result for us. It was important to start this competition well, and we did so in style. It is the product of very hard work from the whole team, the staff, the players, the physiotherapists... Everyone did a great job. But we shouldn't get too excited, it's only the first game. We won but we have to stay focused from the beginning to the end [of the competition]."
Zinedine Zidane (Real Madrid coach): "Tonight there's nothing to say, PSG deserved to win the match. They were very good at all levels, and we were not so good. We haven't performed well and at this level of the competition, if our level and pace are not high enough, it's very complicated. That's what happened tonight. We played against a team that put us under pressure, that was very good at all levels and scored three goals. The second period was no better; we were quickly put in danger. Over 90 minutes, we didn't create many chances. They were better tonight and we're going to have to rest and think about our game. We'll keep working."
