Last eight tester for Lille
Ligue 1 leaders Lille have been drawn against fellow top division club Lorient in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France. Paris Saint-Germain are at home to Ligue 2 club Le Mans and Nice travel to Reims (Ligue 2).
Lille beat Lorient 6-3 when the sides met in the north of France in Ligue 1 on December 5. LOSC coach Rudi Garcia described the draw as “a beautiful match between two sides who like to play football”.
Le Mans are going well in Ligue 2. Coach Arnaud Cormier said: “It could hardly have been a tougher draw. Maybe Lille at Lille?”
Nice coach Eric Roy said: “It’s a 50-50 tie. Reims have already beaten two Ligue 1 clubs. It will be difficult game but it’s also a great chance to reach the semi-finals.”
Amateurs Chambéry were hoping to come up against another Ligue 1 side after having beaten Monaco, Brest and Sochaux in their thrilling run to the last eight.
Quarter-finals to be played on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 April:
Paris Saint-Germain v Le Mans (Ligue 2)
Chambéry (CFA2, D5) v Angers (Ligue 2)
Lille v Lorient
Reims (Ligue 2) v Nice
