Les Bleus: Thauvin out for Germany clash
A starter against Iceland on Thursday, OM winger Florian Thauvin is suffering a foot complaint and will miss France's UEFA Nations League clash with Germany at the Stade de France on Tuesday.
Florian Thauvin will take no part in proceedings at the Stade de France against Germany on Tuesday night as France take part in their third UEFA Nations League match (20:45 CET). A starter in the 2-2 friendly draw with Iceland on Thursday, the left-footer from Marseille left the France set-up on Monday and returned to his club with concerns over his right foot, the French Football Federation (FFF) announced. He will not be replaced in the squad.
Great start to the season
The man from Orléans has been struggling with his foot for the past fortnight after taking a knock in the 3-0 defeat to LOSC at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille in Ligue 1 Conforama Week 8 action. The problem was at the root of Thauvin's missing the UEFA Europa League trip to Limassol, and has hampered him from improving on what has nonetheless been an extremely impressive start to the season with seven goals and two assists in nine matches.
