Lille, PSG in dramatic 2-2 draws
Lille let a two-goal advantage slip in the space of two minutes at home to PSV Eindhoven while PSG had Peguy Luyindula’s last-gasp strike to thank for their strong perspective on next week’s Europa League Round-of-32 return legs.

UEFA Europa League Round of 32
Lille v PSV Eindhoven: 2 - 2
Rudia Garcia’s ‘B’-team had Dutch league leaders PSV Eindhoven on the back foot from the outset, youngster Idrissa Gueye marking a rare start with a fine strike from the edge of the area (6’) as well as a neat pass wide to Mathieu Debuchy, whose perfect cross sat up for Tulio De Melo to notch his second in two games (31’).
However, things came unstuck for Les Dogues with less than ten minutes to go, giant Swedish striker Ola Toivonen hitting the bar before Wilfred Bouma slotted home the rebound (83'). Toivonen himself turned scorer a minute later to complete the fightback, angling his shot past Mickaël Landreau after beating both David Rozenhal and Aurélien Chedjou just outside the area (84’).
The Dutch goal blitz changed the face of the tie altogether, the two away goals meaning that Lille will be obliged to chase down a result in Eindhoven next Thursday to have a hope of progressing to the last-16.
BATE Borisov v Paris Saint-Germain: 2 - 2
Same result, but very different prospects for PSG as they notched a late draw in Minsk against BATE Borisov. Battling temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius, Antoine Kombouaré’s men dominated but somehow found themselves a goal down after just 16 minutes, Brazilian Renan Bressan scoring on the counter against the run of play.
Mevlut Erding levelled the scores on the half-hour mark, from a sweet Peguy Luyindula cross, and it was Luyindula who scored the crucial second away goal with just a minute left after Mikhail Gordeichuk had handed the lead back to the hosts (81’).
Unlike Lille, PSG now have the away leg of their Round-of-32 tie out of the way and can look forward to next week’s return match at the Parc des Princes with two valuable away goals in their locker.
