Coupe de France, round of 16

Stade de la Beaujoire, Nantes

 FC Nantes 2 - 0 Toulouse FC

With tributes to tragically disappeared striker Emiliano Sala still ringing around the Stade de la Beaujoire, FC Nantes booked their place in the Coupe de France quarter-finals with a 2-0 triumph over visiting Toulouse.

In-form forward Kalifa Coulibaly, who scored the winner in Saturday 1-0 last 32 win away to Entente SSG, was at it again, opening the scoring with a header from Lima's inch-perfect free-kick (9').

Anthony Limbombe added a superb second just before the break, jinking his way through the defence before beating Mauro Goicoechea hands down (41'). The Uruguayan 'keeper did a good job of stopping the scoring there, making some superb saves in the second half, but his attacking colleagues couldn't find a way to hit back and keep Toulouse in the competition.

Stade Armand-Cesari, Bastia

SC Bastia 2 - 2 SM Caen  - SM Caen win 5-3 on penalties

SM Caen had a dramatic time of it on their trip to Corsica to Face former Ligue 1 Conforama club SC Bastia, twice taking the lead - through Malik Tchokounté (04') and Casimir Ninga (94') - and twice being pegged back, by Louis Poggi (70') and Benjamin Santelli (117') as extra-time ended 2-2.

The ensuing shootout saw Tchokounté take the winning spot-kick after Bastia substitute Minimbou Kifoueti missed his in a devastating turn of events for the home side, who had come so close to toppling a top-flight club.

Caen move through to the quarters for a second season in a row, having made it all the way to the semis last season only to be beaten 3-1 by eventual champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Stade Henri-Seigneur, Croix

IC Croix Football 0 - 3 Dijon FCO

Dijon were back in cup mode on Tuesday and duly followed up their 6-3 last 32 hammering of Saint-Etienne with a solid 3-0 win away to D4 side Croix, on the outskirts of Lille.

Minnows Croix had their task made all the more difficult when defender Kandanso Tamanate earned a straight red card and gave away a penalty that Dijon captain Julio Tavares duly converted (05', pen.).

A rare goal for veteran midfielder Florent Balmont followed (27') before Wesley Saïd rounded out the scoring in this routine win with a strike deep into injury time (90'+3), handing the Ligue 1 Conforama strugglers a first quarter-finals berth since 2007-08.
