Holders Paris Saint-Germain are through to the Coupe de France quarter-finals, but were taken to extra-time by amateur side Villefranche-sur-Saône, while Jordan Siebatcheu was Stade Rennais FC's matchwinner against LOSC.

The four-time defending champions were overwhelming favourites at the Groupama Stadium, the same venue where they had slipped to their first defeat of the Ligue 1 Conforama season against Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday.

Thomas Tuchel's side appeared to be suffering a hangover from that loss as — after good early chances for Moussa Diaby and Angel Di Maria — they struggled to break down their third-division opponents.

Villefranche goalkeeper Antoine Philippon pushed out an Edinson Cavani free-kick to force extra-time, but was beaten by Julian Draxler for the opening goal after the Gemarny international had been teed up by Cavani 102 minutes into the tie.

Kylian Mbappé then unselfishly set up Diaby for the second (113') before Cavani netted number three (119') to bring up his club's 100th competitive goal of the campaign.

Lille boss Christophe Galtier had announced his determination to reach the last eight, and Lille tested Tomas Koubek in the home goal through Jonathan Ikoné (12') before captain Adama Soumaoro was sent off for a hefty challenge on Edson Mexer with not even 20 minutes on the clock (18').

Ismaïla Sarr went close to opening the scoring (29') and Mike Maignan then pushed out Clément Grenier's effort (36') and saw Adrien Hunou's header strike his crossbar (50') before Nicolas Pepe gave the visitors the lead with a powerful header (65').

The introduction of Siebatcheu 18 minutes from time changed everything though. Within three minutes, the former Stade de Reims forward had headed his team level (75'), and after Hunou had missed a good chance (84'), Siebatcheu beat Maignan with a close-range header in added time (90+1').
