The draw for the UEFA Champions League group stage was held on Thursday evening in Monaco, issuing a tough test for Paris Saint-Germain in the form of the competition's most successful club, Real Madrid.

Ligue 1 Conforama champions Paris Saint-Germain will once again take on Real Madrid, having shared a group with the Spaniards as recently as 2015-16 and faced off in the round of 16 at the beginning of 2018. This time around, the capital club will also be doing battle with Belgians FC Bruges and the Turks of Galatasaray in Group A.

Meanwhile LOSC, who were Paris Saint-Germain's nearest league rivals last season, will be in Group H facing a stiff test in the form of reigning UEFA Europa League holders Chelsea as well as Spain's FC Valencia and Dutch champions Ajax Amsterdam.

Last but not least, Olympique Lyonnais - who qualified directly for the group stage thanks to a knock-on effect sparked by Chelsea's European title - were drawn in an evenly matched Group G featuring Russia's Zenit Saint Petersburg, Portugal's Benfica and Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.
