The Coupe de la Ligue hits the road!
The LFP has announced that the final of the Coupe de la Ligue 2016-17 will be held at Lyon's Parc OL, with other state-of-the-art French stadiums to host the cup final in the seasons to come.
While the first three editions of the Coupe de la Ligue (1995-97) were held at the Parc des Princes in Paris, and since then at the Stade de France, season 2016-17 will see a new venue host the gala cup final - Olympique Lyonnais' Parc OL, on April 1, 2017.
A part of the LFP's initiative to surf the wave of Euro 2016's success and take advantage of the wonderful new stadia built in recent years in France, the decision to take the Coupe de la Ligue final on the road will also benefit Bordeaux, whose brand-new Matmut Atlantique stadium will host the 2018 final.
And in 2019, the showpiece final will take place at LOSC's stunning Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
