AC Ajaccio have already unveiled their first summer signing in the shape of experienced defender Cédric Hengbart.

Hengbart, 32, has agreed a two-year deal at the Stade François-Coty, returning to Ligue 1 after spending the 2012-13 season in the second tier with Auxerre. The full-back, previously of SM Caen, has made 191 top-flight appearances in his career and played for Auxerre in the Champions League in 2010-11.

He was allowed to leave the Burgundy club at the end of the season after five years at the Stade de l'Abbé-Deschamps.

"I am delighted to be back in Ligue 1. That was my ambition and AC Ajaccio offered me the chance," said Hengbart at his unveiling, as he looks forward to teaming up once again with his former Auxerre colleagues Frédéric Sammaritano and Dennis Oliech in Corsica.

Ajaccio, who finished the season in 17th place, two points clear of the relegation zone, are still on the lookout for a new coach after Albert Émon stepped down earlier this week.
